Although, like all of us, I have been affected by this pandemic, I choose to live and not become self-absorbed in a spiral of fear and anxiety. In this issue we bring you the best in kids’ fashion, sharing with you in the coming pages the most amazing productions and the many inspiring people making it happen. It has been a challenge to keep going during this global crisis, espe- cially as a printed magazine, but we are here and we are here to stay. We believe that it is by actually holding Lemon in your hands that we can return to the contact this virus has taken away from us. Lemon is for me and all the men and women who know that parenthood can be bitter at times, yet the most beautiful experience of our lives. I would also like to open a conversation about dating for single mums and dads. How strange does that whole ex- perience feel: allowing someone to get into your life after, in most cases, one or more broken hearts? How can you allow someone closer to you when it is not just you anymore? I still don’t have answers to these questions. I have been through a huge transformation and, as I have written before, it was those not-so-great moments that led me here today, with the superpower of standing on my own two feet without leaning on anyone else. I feel like the strongest person in the world; but do I want to risk losing that and fall in love again? I know how wonderful it is to have that person that talks to you at the end of the day, makes you laugh or fights you for the tv remote, that cares when you had a bad day, that holds you tight and takes some of the emotional responsibility you feel when you are a mother living alone. All of that sounds amazing, but are we ready to let anyone into our world? Am I ready? I’m not sure, and besides knowing that I am a strong independent woman, I too have my insecurities (but please don’t tell anyone). I Think the way to go is to take it step by step. After all, we are not young, naive souls anymore, and, naturally, we have lost that “crazy in love” feeling. This time we can take it slow. We will get to know new people, to enjoy life, to have fun, to cherish the right moments, not everything is or should be forever, right? All our life stages are here to give us something we need in our lives, at least that’s what I believe! As we grow, everything becomes different and we look at things with a new perspective. With age comes the wisdom of making sure things are more practical, and not so emotional. I might look at this subject in the future with different eyes and for sure I will share my thoughts with you. I would also invite you to write in and tell me about your own experiences. Moving on to the motherhood side of things, most of our kids are back to school and we are confused. The school staff is adjusting, we are adjusting, our precious kids are adjusting, and we all fear having to go back to studying and working from home. Speaking for myself, I do not have the patience to teach and I admit that. Trying to work at home while the kids need our attention and help is a real challenge. After just one week at my daughter's school there were two positive cases and all the secondary part of the school was sent home! Will it be like this all year? From school to quarantine, from quarantine back to school? We don’t know, but as they say, we need to “adapt and survive”. This is the third edition of Lemon international and I would love for you to share with us what you like, dislike, and any- thing else you would like to see in our pages. I hope your return to school goes smoothly and that at the end of the day you and your kids find a way to be happy it doesn’t need to be all day, but at least one moment a day… Forever grateful, and full of positive vibrations.
