Importantly, the circulating air is taken from inside the storage unit itself, which effectively isolates the flow of air from the outside environment. With a running cost of approximately 6 cents per day, who can’t afford that kind of protection? Other award winning patented Carcoon products are the Carcoon Workstations offered in multiple standard sizes, as well as engine and aviation storage units known as Heli Cells and Jet Cells. Carcoon also offers custom size plane, helicopter and train Workstations, in addition to innovative portable medical isolation chambers and facilities, providing unparalleled quality and portability. ISOLATE from the constantly changing temperature and humidity of the ambient environment. STABILIZE by removing excess moisture, fuel/oil vapor and other contaminants from within the mini environment. VENTILATE using the patented Active Airflow Concept. CIRCULATE the air isolated within, by using Activated Carbon Filters under pressure. PROTECT your car and keep it in mint condition! •*Carcoon Is The Choice •*Carcoon Is The Choice 1 Why Carcoon? Carcoon is the ultimate automobile storage system designed to protect your precious investment. With its unique patented “active airflow” system and other advanced features, Carcoon sets a new standard in car care. About Carcoon The original Carcoon was designed and produced by George Page in the early 90’s, to help combat problem areas encountered with automobile storage in his classic car restoration business in the United Kingdom. Today Carcoon is the clear market leader in automotive and aviation storage systems, portable paint booths and innovative portable medical chambers worldwide. The Carcoon line of products has gained worldwide acceptance from car collectors and individuals within the body shop and automotive dealership industry. The Carcoon Workstation The Carcoon Workstation is specifically designed to meet new and proposed legislation to protect the environment from damaging emissions, in particular emissions from traditional materials commonly used in the repair of motor vehicles. (paints, solvents, cleaners, fillers etc.) • THE WORKSTATION IS EPA CERTIFIED (also exceeds 98% capture efficiency under the 6h rule) • ALL MATERIALS USED IN THE WORKSTATION ARE NFPA CERTIFIED PER TEST NFPA 701 METHOD 2 Body Shop + Mobile ApplicationsBody Shop + Mobile Applications 3 Body Shop + Mobile Applications The Carcoon Workstation is effectively a fully functioning portable paint booth using a 3600 CFM air supply unit and industry standard filter media both on the input and exhaust. In fact, these are the very same input and exhaust filters used in the more conventional paint booths and ovens used in the motor trade, in this case with the addition of Activated Carbon filters on final exhaust. This all-new concept uses a super atmospheric chamber, providing outstanding functionality and ventilating airflow throughout the system. The Carcoon Workstation uses a three stage filter process. Initially, air is filtered as it enters the work chamber, providing a well ventilated and clean working environment. Then, the cross draft airflow passing through the chamber collects the contaminants created within, such as paint overspray, dust, etc. The contaminating particles are then trapped in four massive exhaust filters before flowing through a third layer of activated carbon filters and finally exhausting back into the atmosphere. This allows us to manufacture a much larger unit without compromise or the risk of collapsing under the weight of the massive inflatable structural beams. These larger units come in two, three, four or even five sections. This keeps them completely portable and able to be moved from location to location or alternatively used in a dedicated location with the ability to take down the unit when not in use. Securing a unit of this size is of paramount importance. This example used by a major helicopter manufacturer in Oregon has a total of 60 tie down straps, ensuring that the unit is completely fastened to the ground through a series of cables and concrete barriers and stakes. Additional protective flooring can be added, providing the versatility of a prep station or chemical stripping station. The Workstations are also able to be heated and cooled.
